BurnFree®, Sterile Pain Relieving Burn Dressing and Gel

BURNFREE Pain Relieving Gel is available in 1/8 oz. Single Dose Packets, as well as 1 gram, 4 oz. and 8 oz. Bottles. This gel is ideal for all minor burns. It is the same solution found in the burn dressings and fire/trauma blankets.

When using BURNFREE Pain Relieving Gel, gently apply a liberal amount to the injured area without rubbing it into the wound. In order for the gel to be fully effective, it is necessary to apply a thick layer over the damaged area.

Burnfree Sterile Burn Dressings are designed for first aid use on all types of burn injuries. The dressings are constructed of a special, soft, open-cell foam saturated with the Burnfree solution. Burnfree dressings have several beneficial physical characteristics such as:

Efficiently cover the burned area and yet elastic enough to accomodate possible swelling or the need to flex joints. They are light, easily transportable sterile dressings. A single application of this dressing is an effective first-aid measure on burns. BurnFree®, Sterile Pain Relieving Burn Treatment Products

The foam's high absorption capabilities allow complete delivery of the gel to the burn site.

Burn free burn gel dressings are non-adherent and the inert foam base will not shed threads, strands, fibers, etc., that might become embedded in the wound.

The moist Burnfree solution facilitates easy removal for inspection and treatment of the injured area. The gel leaves no residue. It can easily be removed with water during normal debridement.

Using Burnfree Dressings:

When medical assistance is not immediately available, using Burnfree dressings, along with the outer packaging for further protection, helps the wound area to remain moist for many hours. Utilizing this system also provides physical protection to the wound against further damage and contamination. BurnFree®, Sterile burn gel Pain Relieving Burn Treatment Products

The smaller Burnfree dressings are ideal for hands and smaller areas. The larger dressings are large enough to receive and treat a hand, foot, arm, or leg.

Burnfree dressings can be used in the following ways:

Remove the dresssing from the package and apply directly to the wound. Secure lightly.

Use the package as an outer cover around the injured area. Open the top of the package, insert the injured area into the package with the dressing applied lightly to the wound. Secure the package lightly. Burn Free®, Sterile Pain Relieving Burn Treatment Products. This method often facilitates easier, less traumatic application with minimum contamination of the sterile dressing.

Burnfree Sterile Burn Dressings can be used to reduce the pain and trauma of wounds from fires, flames, scalds, chemical, and electrical injuries. However, with chemical burns, the wound must be thoroughly irrigated, and neutralized, before using the gel. With electrical burns, the current must be turned off before using burn gel since the Burn free solution is water-based and conducts electricity.

Who should have the BURNFREE products available for use? Since BURNFREE provides the physical protection essential in primary burn care, every home, business, and emergency service vehicle, forest fire rescue team, auto, airplane, etc., should have immediate access to BURNFREE products.

BURNFREE dressings and Pain Relieving Gel are safe and simple enough for a child to use. All BURNFREE products are designed for accessibility and portability. The sooner the dressing or gel is applied after the injury, the more effective it is in relieving pain and minimizing tissue damage.

Note: Applying BURNFREE several hours after the injury occurs will not hurt, but it will be much less effective than if applied soon after the injury occurs.

Who should have the BURNFREE Hydrogel Survival Fire/Trauma Blanket?
The blanket is indispensable to any home or organization. This includes emergency and rescue teams, restaurants, factories, offices, small businesses, shops, and any other business involved with the public.

Think of BURNFREE blankets as insurance. Like home insurance and car insurance, they are rarely used, but always are repurchased. If a person is trapped in a burning building, he or she will have an excellent chance of escaping if they have access to the insurance of the BURNFREE blanket.

Why is it important that the BURNFREE solution does not contain any fats or greases?

When applied to a burn injury, fats, oil-based products, and greases trap heat in the body. The heat then is forced deeper into the tissue and will cause the injury to progress. (Never use butter on a burn!)

Is medical attention necessary after using BURNFREE Dressings or Blankets?
Medical attention is always advised in cases of burn injury or smoke inhalation and should be sought as soon as possible after an injury occurs.

What happens if BURNFREE freezes?
BURNFREE will freeze. Of course you can't use it in the frozen state, but after thawing, the product will not be damaged and will still be effective for its designed purpose. The optimum storage temperature is 72 degrees Fahrenheit. We recommend that if it is stored at a temperature over 100 degrees Fahrenheit that it be cooled before use.

Is BURNFREE good for chemical burns?
Yes, but the burn must be flushed and the chemical removed from the injured area according to standard protocols. Usually a 15-minute flush is required to insure all chemistry is washed away. Then, BURNFREE can be applied with excellent results.

Is BURNFREE good for sunburns?
BURNFREE is very effective when used on sunburns. It should be applied liberally and not be rubbed into the burned area.

Can I use it on a freezer burn?
No. A freezer burn is technically not a burn. Frostbite, cryogenics and other such problems are caused by extreme cold. They are misnamed as burns and the treatment is exactly the opposite of what is needed for a thermal burn. Do not use BURNFREE on such wounds.

Is BURNFREE a drug?
No. BURNFREE is a medical device, which, as a class of products, contains no active ingredient.

What is the composition of BURNFREE?
It is predominantly di-ionized, pure water which is thickened with a gelling agent to enable the water to stay in place over the wound site. While water is effective as a first aid for burns, it is difficult to keep in place. BURNFREE gels the water to allow for effective and easy cooling directly on the burn site. BURNFREE also has a wetting agent with the gel system to allow better penetration of the water into clothing or debris imbedded in the wound. This wetting agent allows the softening of this material to help ease the debridement process. BURNFREE's composition also includes a preservative system and evaporation inhibitor to control the cooling process. It is our design of the system that allows for the heat transference to the gel system without the danger of uncontrolled cooling through evaporation, which can lead to hypothermia.
